School is STARTING!

Here are some helpful tips any of the art classes:
  1. All of the assignments, notes, requirements and tips are located on the links above.
  2. Every class requires a sketch book, except for computer graphics.
  3. Every class has homework every week, except for computer graphics.
  4. Computer Graphics is a challenging class, but cool :)
  5. Every class will require some type of reflection: writing or speaking.
  6. Every class has an opportunity for you to challenge yourself.
  7. Every project has a rubric, but you can make suggestions.
  8. You are responsible for your class time, misuse will result in grade loss. Great use = Great Gains!
  9. Over the last 5 years every PHSC student going into college for art has received at least 25% of their tuition in scholarships. Work harder = more $.
  10. Creativity = Courage

Today we took some our our art students to see the scholastic art show, tour CCAD, and the Columbus museum of art. This all falls under the state art standards of creating a community of culture and life long learning/love for the arts.
But the best part is seeing some of our students work up in the gallery now and then being able to show them where they can be in the future.
Here are some pics.

Mark your calendars!

Pickerington Central art students will be displaying their work at vintage toy shop Big Fun during this month’s Gallery Hop in the Short North Arts district on Feb. 6, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Students displaying their work are Katherine Raudall, Erin Donahue, Carson Issac, Nihal Shah, Jacob Boggs, Zoe Koval, Jon Beaver, Kala Moore, Chris Anderson, David Mahon, Joe Berka, Lane Wisler, Anthony Pellican, Paul Stenam, and Valerie Wilson.
While all of the pieces will be showcased during the night of Gallery Hop, Big Fun will choose 10 pieces to stay up for the remainder of the month throughout the store.
Make sure to get down to the Short North and support these talented students!

Great first couple of days into the new semester!

Take the time to do icebreakers in the class to start the year off with positive class interaction!

Students not only talk, but it sets the tone to get kids to explain their answers and use expressive language!
